Hi world
desk hopping time again. I'm going to keep it short ..... honest.
If you don't know what I am talking about ......check it out.... it's great fun, especially if you are a bit nosey
For all the info etc visit the lovely Julia here stamping-ground.
My desk .... not especially interesting........the usual stuff .......scissors, my old bradle, d/s tape, brads.... the remains of the Valentine's card I made for the handyman (my blog name for DH).
My messy desk is a bit more interesting.... can you see what it is yet?
It's a stickles holder.....posted a few weeks ago). I am painting it
Regular watchers will remember the button bracelet I mended last week, well GD Erin took a shine to it, so the pink strip and buttons are going to be a mini one for her.
Talking of buttons... the most interesting area of my craft room this week is the floor.
Erin seems to be enjoying herself, all those buttons, there are probably more still in the jar if only she could get them out.
Who needs toys?, we played with those buttons all afternoon :)
If you have time for a few more pictures .... here is the Valentines card..... not traditional I'll grant you but my first attempt at Zentangles.
And finally the gift that was in the gift bag on my desk last week.
Nicki collects Russian doll........ so I beaded her one
Well, that was a lot longer than I intended so I'll sign off..... usual rules apply, see you on your desk real soon.
Please dont forget your Mr Linky number so I can find you..... Ta!
janet
PS lent starts today so NO choc etc for 40 days *(and nights) so I may be BIT GRUMPY!!
WOW! you are definitely ahead in the game today! I loved the pic of Erin playing with the buttons...I think we give to much and forget they need to investigate and create fun on their own. Hope you have a great week! Vickie (no numbers yet!)
ReplyDeletelots of oohs and aahs and Wows too for you this week. I'm amazed you had time to make a quilt at all when I see all the lovelies there. fab zentangle card, superb beading, but Erin takes the biscuit

I think your valentine is fabulous!! Sounds (and looks) like you and Erin had lots of fun with the buttons - I always loved looking at my Mum's.... ah, memories! Happy WOYWW, Helen 2
ReplyDeleteA girl with the same love as me for buttons they can be so amazing to go through, as a child I used to raid my great grandma's button tin and sew them all together.

Love your beading work, so pretty. I used to love my Nan's button tin, so many things to play with - and no batteries required either LOL! Happy WOYWW! Karen 86 x
ReplyDeleteI still have my Mother's button tin and love a good rummage in it, I think the noise just gets me in the mood. I did start sorting them into pots once, and I thought that was what Erin was doing, but they are not so much fun and were tipped back into the tin.
ReplyDeleteLove that zentangle card, thinking of having a try myself (only thinking at the mo).
Just love that beading - must've taken you ages but well worth it.

ReplyDeleteAnd what a cool, unique valentine card :)
My daughter Erin used to love to play in my scrap supplies when she was smaller. What am I saying, she still does! :)
Hi Janet,
ReplyDeleteYour zentangle card is great! Do you find it relaxing?
I absolutely love your russian doll beadwork! I recognize the peyote stitch; and are those delica beads? I still have a small stash from years ago.
Looks like Erin was having a blast!
Happy WOYWW

Had a laugh when you added the disclaimer that the Handy man was DH..I hope so since you are giving him a Valentine's Card, either that or you are on very good terms with your handy man, lol Erin looks like she had buttons and a whole lot of pencils too down there to play with! :) Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and say hi, it's always appreciated! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
ReplyDeleteYou must be so patient to do the zentangle (it's gorgeous) and the beadwork (also gorgeous)
ReplyDeleteI love Erin and the buttons. I can remember hours of fun with my grans button tin (it was actually a gas mask tin)
Happy WOYWW

Hi - what a great idea, to have a messy desk as well as a normal one. I know what you mean about buttons. I got given another tin of them this week, and it's as good as a box of chocs for Valentine's Day - well, at least they last longer!! Have a great week x
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! First of all well done on giving up chocolate for Lent and good luck with it - roll on Easter eh?! Your Zentangle is fabulous - it certainly does not look like a first attempt. Oh and I too am a button addict. Happy Wednesday. :o)

Erin looks to be having a grand time. Love having the GDs over to have a play date. Good job on the tangle, made a lovely card. I haven't yet been brave enough to put any of my tangles on a card yet.
ReplyDeleteKrisha #133
Oh my word..you chose to give up chocolate? Even on a diet I can't rule that out completely. Good for you! Lovely pics of Erin and the buttons. GORGEOUS beaded russian doll, my word you are so patient and full of good ideas.
ReplyDeleteHi, I've just had a mooch around your blog as I was given your info by Jane (you work with her!). I'm her friend Di - I occasionally take part in WOYWW but I'm rather sporadic as my desk often doesn't change from one week to the next - motivation problems! I love the beaded doll - it's exquisite work and I love the colours you chose too. The zentangle work is beautiful and so intricate - you must have a lot of patience. A great blog and I've very much enjoyed visiting.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
That beaded russian doll is amazing! I have been threatening to start zentangles too, but somehow never find the time. Yours look way better than a first attempt should.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW!

Button sorting (playing) has probably claimed more time than facebook lol. Love that stickles holder in the making! That is some gorgeous beading!! Thanks for visiting my blog : D. #145
ReplyDeleteI like the look of those stickle storage carousels, and I like the look of your little crafter too! You might have created a monster there!!

Your desk is not boring at all. Can''t wait to see the finished stickle carousel.
ReplyDeleteSorry i'm late with woyww , hopeyou have a good weekend, jill #45
Firstly what are you thinking Janet???? Giving up chocolate? Are you mad? I'm trying quickly to think of anything else but chocolate because I know I couldn't do that. Weak I know but I'll find something else to challenge myself but not chocolate. Life would be unbareable for everyone within a 10 mile radius! :$
ReplyDeleteSo there's a lot going on at your place...I love the russian doll and what a lot of work and patience you must have to do that.
Which leads me to your zentangle card...it's brilliant! Did you enjoy drawing it? I love the way it takes my mind away from everything whilst I'm drawing them. :D
Little Erin looks so cute playing with the buttons.
Sorry I'm so late visiting this week ~ I hope you've had a great weekend and are ready for the new week of creativity! ;D
Sorry I am so late commenting! Thank you for telling me the video worked! Your zentangle card is stunning and so is the russian doll! You have so much patience doing that - although I love beaded stuff I just don't have the patience for it! You are an amazing crafter lady! Everything you make is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs,
Cardarian
