I had intended to write a review of my favourite posts of 2013 but as the time came near....even the thinking about it took so long, I couldn't be bothered, he he.
It's best to look forward
So this is just my final post of 2013 and my first of 2014.... which ever.
Not sure if our head desker is posting or not but here I am anyway..... see what its all about here. http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
Start as I mean to continue for 2014 so here's my desk, lunchtime on Tuesday
Christmas cards in production..... yes sadly for next year..... I know, I know but there is a plan you see....
It takes me a long time to get in the 'C' mode, not until well into December then it is too late to make the 100 cards I need, so I make them now while I'm still in the zone.
Close of play Tuesday .....I made 32 .... I aim to make about 50 then start on the new home and the baby card for DD1
Then there's DD3 wedding invites to do (the last one yay.... it's ok she doesn't read this )
Look out for a lot of hot pink and black.....
Never a dull moment in fairythoughts grotto.
A big thank you to everyone for all the lovely comments and encouragement over the last year, they do mean a lot, it's been a very mixed year for me..... highs and lows, but this is not the place.....
Finally, a special thank you to Julia for putting this show together every week, I don't know how she manages it, maybe she writes a lot of lists .... Have a great 2014 girl.
Anyway that's all folks I'm going to finish watching Gary Barlow with Alfie Bow singing Queen..... awesome

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Yes, I suspect lists keep our fair Julia in line! hee hee. I like your attitude that instead of looking over the past year, look towards the future! Of course I may feel that way because I'm far to lazy to look over my last year's posts. I started making Christmas cards right after Christmas too. I figured since I was in the zone why not get a head start for next year? I made three! Yeah, I got sick so that put a damper on that but the stuff is still sitting out so it could happen. I really the cards you've made so far. Lookin' good!
ReplyDeleteHa seems to be a pattern here Janet!!
ReplyDelete.. not first blog have popped onto and the Christmas card production is n the mix and going to join as the stash it is out!
.. and then heads up for the end of the year, so agree with you!!
happy WOYWW and God bless for 2014 (no number yet) Shaz in Oz.x.
That's a great idea, while the stash is still out. Happy New Year to you x

I didn't finish some of my cards from last year so I am still in the zone too and there is nothing wrong with planning ahead, just think about how much time you will have free to do something else later when it is needed. I hope you have a wonderful 2014 and I look forward to seeing many more of your posts. Happy New Year

Happy new year to you. I might just join you in this quest as I didn't make any to send this year...life happened. #11
ReplyDeleteGood work with the Christmas cards! I am soon to begin on next years by using the ones I got this year. Hope to see my Christmas card amnesty box start to fill up next week so I can take some home to recycle on my holiday next week! Ah, Christmas. This is my challenge for the year! Hope you had a good New Year's Eve. I didn't get blotto, you'll be glad t hear! See you next week. Lucy #28(!) x
ReplyDeleteI think making next year's cards is a great idea! Get them done and then forget about them :-)

Happy New Year Janet. I am in the habit of packing all my Christmas stuff away as soon as I am done with last years, maybe I should try this method one year. Love your cards, very pretty. Have a great Wednesday, Hugs, Shaz #32 xx
ReplyDeleteFirst I thought, Christmas cards.....your mad! Then I thought...ooh, in the zone and stash already out genius! Actually tempted to do this myself (but I know I would never find them again next Christmas!!).

Hi there and a Happy New Year. I ought to make my cards now as I didn't get round to it this year and had to buy them all - boo. I really should make the effort now!!! Anne x #36
ReplyDeleteARGH! Another forward thinker! I am blocking out all comments of 2014 Christmas - fingers in ears, LA LA LA LA, not listening!! But I am so with you on the recap - I thought the same, that I might do a wrap-up, but in the end just scheduled a post of my Wordpres stats report :) That will have to do....
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year WOYWW!

ReplyDeleteGlad I am not the only one that keeps Christmas in the Craft Room for a bit longer!
You will have to come out soon and start on 2014 - which sounds like it will be extremely busy!!
Wishing you lots of stamina and inspiration for 2014

Happy New Year Janet. I cannot believe you are already making Christmas 2014 cards already. I am not in the C zone of cards after my marathon! I will though soon as I am not putting my C stuff too far away!
ReplyDeleteHugs
xx
ha ha! Lists are the new memory bank!! so with you on the compilation of posts...also means you have to read a lot of your own posts to choose, and that makes me squirm a bit! I too am in the zone for Christmas makes...happens every year! I know it's been mixed, but I think you've come through this year with dignity and a smile, am so looking forward to sharing some of your next year with you...you're already so busy!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Janet. I can't quite get my head round the fact that you already have 32 cards for next Christmas - got any spare time and inspiration?? I've already had to put everything away as the family stayed and needed the space... I'll crack on with all sorts after the meal I have to cook in a couple of weeks time... and after hubby's birthday... and after the bags I need to make to go to Uganda with the first team from church....
ReplyDeleteYour cards are lovely - well done.

I am impressed with you and your C cards. I always think it is never too early to start, but always end up doing it last minute anyway! LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are off to a busy year already.
Happy New Year and happy WOYWW!

Happy New Year my dear friend! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my blog in 2013 and also the sequins you have sent me! My C time was not what I wanted so cards have not been made or sent, but mom is better now so I hope to be creating soon!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs and love

Janet.
ReplyDeleteIn reply to your question I do a lot of web work hence 2 screens then there is 1 screen for TV but can also be used for computer if needed. Yep I use all the screens too when needed. LOL
Hugs Eliza
3 Cups of coffee were visible in that shot...the 4th was lurking next to my PC...The kitchen is on the other side of the house and I sometimes forget to round all my cups up before making the next one! I have enough mugs to run a coffee shop, so they don't get missed...Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeletewell done you good idea re the christmas cards when all of us are in a panic you will be so organised I like it ! . I hope 2014 brings good health and happiness and look forward to seeing the hot pink and black invites happy crafting Andrea #33
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Janet. Making Christmas cards throughout the year works for me too ... otherwise I'd go into panic mode in December and probably lose much needed sleep trying to catch up. I'm sure you are right about Julia and how she manages ... it's those to-do lists she writes that keeps her organised, but thank goodness she does :) Have a great week and a wonderful 2014. Hugs, Elizabeth x #79
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Janet, and thanks for your visit. Good for you making your cards for next year now! I worked on mine in early November so I could not feel under pressure after Thanksgiving. Maybe this year I'll do them in July. ha, ha Happy WOYWW! ~ Laura #54
ReplyDeleteWell done with the cards. I have just taken all my down ready to recycle etc. Happy New Year x Jo
ReplyDeleteJanet, I bought cards this year, so I think it's wonderful you're getting ready for next year already.
ReplyDelete(Not sure if I'll be able to add to the journal everyday, but it's an intriguing idea, since I'm not really a journal kind of person, to document something . . . will have to see how it goes . . .)
A Happy New Year to you, and many more happy woywws, too!
:)
I'm impressed that you are already have Christmas cards made for next year. It sounds like you are very busy. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. April #60
