Here's an 'Annie ' for you today .... Guess what I am sewing.... I made a small mis calculation on the amount of fabric I need ... And I'm using the wrong type too so I am having to line it ... Hence the miscalculation .... Anyway can you guess what it is

It made my work mates smile when they saw the pattern pieces ... Naughty ladies

 ..... and the unhappy ones........ hopefully visiting a few desks will cheer you up. See them here    stamping-ground. Head hopper Julia will be sure to put a smile on your face.

This is taken just as I have stated working on my latest journal page the prompt was to.... draw where we are.... I'm drawing my  journal being worked on..... Mmm very original !
Under the lid .. top left is some wool I have been knitting with, but cannot show yet.
Bottom right .... the green glasses box ... still unfinished .... and likely to stay so as I have because I have started making for ..... you know what!
Under the DI foam pad thingies is a pile of poppies to sell for  British Legion........ Talking of poppies ... 

Handyman and I went to the Tower of London.... so beautiful they have to be shared.

This fantastic x stitch was made for me by my mate Lucy at work.......  cat loves bear crafts. we have a shared love of all things Minion............ but this takes the banana..... she even designed it herself.

WOYWW281 sewing smelly socks

Oh I did enjoy that...... the celebrity Sewing Bee.... (I am writing this Tuesday eve) worth watching if you missed it and there is another one on Thursday.
I digress........ I know you are here to see my desk..... well maybe!
If not..... do pop over to Julia's to see what it is all about at the   stamping-ground. its great fun and very addictive.
Thanks for all your lovely comments last week about my daily photos..... no such luck this week there hasn't been much movement at all...... except this . . . . . .

 

My Mums' old sewing machine I use in my craft room for simple projects.... like the smelly socks I have been making to put on my folksy shop.
It is very basic but it sews well and I also use it for free machine embroidery.
To get it on my desk I had to perform some complicated manoeuvres.....aka  shove it to the left.

If you look closely you can also see the results of my dying..... no not that sort...tied fabric dying...... I made some fat quarter bundles. love the patterns on these.
On the far right is the still unfinished glasses box for my (still broken) desk glasses... must finish .... soon.

 

No they aren't unwashed .... they have lavender in them and are tied up with ribbon.... cute huh!

T on Tuesday

Morning all

But this morning is a chillin day and while checking my phone I came across a t  Tuesday post from julia dunnit   http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/t-for-tuesday.html?m=1  about go to mugs just as I was making a coffee in my go to mug. 

This is mine ...  

I brought this mug back in the late  1970s I enjoyed using it for a while, then 'lost it'

Mm ....... fast forward to February 2014. My handyman moved offices at work and brought home some 'stuff' from his desk...... Yes MY mug has been on his desk for 30 years (OMG) with pens in. I have no recollection of how or why it was there. Now I use it everyday as my go to mug. Coffee tastes even better now. 

Talking of T' s I am currently trying to explain to Erin that these 2 T s aren't the same

WOYWW 280 A week in the life of ...... my desk

Hi Deskers

My desk recently has been a bit neglected and the same every Wednesday, so this week I though I would show that it does look different on different days of the week.
Julia asks us to show our desk on a Wednesday so here it is.

 

Thursday.... Magazines moved  and journal ready to play with on Friday.

I had a cold last week and handyman told me to rest up Friday and Saturday..... so I sat at my desk and caught up with my DLP journal....... this was the fruits of my labours.... quite pleased with these pages,  I felt very chilled ... but I still have my cold. Aghhhh!

Sunday ....most of the journal stuff cleared away .... drawer of ribbons added.

 

Monday .. ribbons put away and felting stuff brought out ......ready for a workshop at the weekend.

 

Tuesday ... OMG .......the first Christmas project  this year..... a display item I'm working on for work.... well, someone has to do it :-)

 

Wednesday... (ok.... I took this Tuesday evening, but it looks the same)... a basket of baby socks and some plastic bags.....  the big ( now even bigger) pile of magazines has returned. The next project I will be working on will be ..... the body to fit THAT dress. It could be a long job.

Maybe the desk wasn't so different day to day........ maybe next week.

WOYWW 279 I wont keep you long

Hi deskers
Well here we are on another chilly WOYWW morning... Autumn seems to have arrived with a bump..... especially here in the fairy grotto as I have another cold (aghhhhh). Therefore  I wont keep you long and without further adieu....... here's my desk.

This was taken Tuesday morning before I had a bit of a tidy up while GD Erin was at pre school.
Lots of stuff..... just dumped

Later on it looked like this..... a bit tidier don't you think?
I still have a big pile of craft magazines to catch up on..... at least I have sorted then out to stampers and sewing ones.... on the right is a basket full of free sewing kits from said magazines..... my intention is to make them up ...... soon.
I did manage to make a card today ..... just the one .....  woohoo!

The  background is just stamped and the flowers are embossed with silver...... simples!
