WOYWW163 mass production

Hi WOYWW ers and everyone else,
Yep, Wednesday again, so soon!
A big thanks for all your kind messages about my poorly Mums, they are both doing well now... hopefully no more fighting LOL.
Julia our chatty hostess on the desk hop asks us t keep it brief so we can get round more
Pop over to have a look at the stamping-ground

OK, my desk.....Here I am taking advantage of my GD's afternoon nap and cutting out easel backs en-mass for wedding Menu stands.
When she is asleep I like to do things I can just stop when she wakes up. So much to do for the wedding.
Underneath the off cuts is my woodware paper trimmer, quite good but not perfect,  I am always looking for something better ...... any suggestions
On the right is a leaflet on Da Vinci's anatomical drawings which are on show at Buckingham Palace.
I went with a friend last week, the drawings are beautiful and amazing that they are over 500 years old. I took some interesting pictures to use in my crafting.

Not sure how I will use the pictures, I think they will work well with my Grungy stuff, sort of 'Tim does Leonardo'
We also saw the diamond exhibition, If you like bling and get the chance to, do go it was amazing. Lucky for my handyman none of the diamonds were for sale, hee hee

At the back is  my tub of ....still unused Distress Markers. I really want to get on and have a play with the 'seven shades of wee' sticks, may have to wait for that. I am still working on the tiara, hopefully will have it finished for next weeks post.

Sorry to anyone I didnt get to last week I did try. Well done to Princess Judy for a great post last week, very funny, check out the next installment of her soap. http://princess-judy.blogspot.co.uk/
Well I have shown you mine, time to look at yours. Please leave your Mr Linky no. It takes so long to hunt for names otherwise.

  1. Oooh, I'm envious that you've seen the Queen's diamonds exibition...saw some pics of that and it looked amazing!!
Thank you so much for the bead mat - I have absolutely no idea what it looks like though! That's so kind of you to send some though, I will email my addy straight away.
I am really looking forward to seeing the tiara you are making - did you go to a class to learn or are you winging it?? It sounds quite complex - I haven't ventured into wirework yet but it's only a matter of time...... *grin*

  6. Happy WOYWW. Interesting stuff on your desk this week. I would love to go to those exhibitions. I miss getting out to things - we live too far away from the big cities now, and my health stops me from travelling by myself. Ali x # 113

  11. Oh dear, I didn't put a second installment of the soaps today. The story was pre-empted for important breaking news (AKA new purchases!).

I think paper cutters are all a matter of personal taste and what you want out of paper cutter. They all seem to have pros and cons. I think the best thing is to have a couple of different cutters. No, no, I'm not sponsored by the paper cutter company, I'm just saying that a couple of different ones to do different things is the way to go.

All those easels, how do you keep them from getting tangled up? I totally would have made a mess of it by now.

And the distress markers, you'll have to let us know what you think. A friend of mine said there weren't what she was expecting. I think more intense than she thought.

  12. Hi Janet,

I wondered what those white things are. Hmm, easels, made out of paper? Are they strong enough to hold up a card?

The exhibition sounds like it was great! I can see how you'd use the skull image in some grunge

    Thanks for stopping by!!!

  13. The easels look interesting, I'm with whimsy girl, are they strong enough? Love the sound of the exhibition, just in awe of Leonardo, you lucky thing to see them. I am a diamond collector, although hubby says I have enough, but can you ever have too many diamonds?
    Have a great week.

  15. I have three paper trimmers, the one I use most is a Kaiser Cutter, then the Martha Stewart one which always gives a clean crisp cut and a Fiskars.

  17. Wow.

I can't even imagine how awesome that DaVinci display must be . . .

(No help for you here on trimmers--they're never quite good enough, are they?)

  18. Don't get me started on paper trimmers. I've not yet found one that cuts perfectly straight. I've got two guillotines and three rotary trimmers, and the best one is a mahoosive one that the OH bought when he had a nursery. And that one still isn't perfectly right-angled... grr...

PS Gotta love Da Vinci, eh?

  20. Oooh lovely busy weddingy desk! I thought those offcuts were goalposts to start with... I was tempted by the Distress Markers but in the end went the cheapo route and bought some Ranger nibs and a holder, and just drag them across a DI pad and write/draw with them! Works a charm!

The Leonardo drawing is amazing. Definitely potential for our art work today!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
