WOYWW 252 say hello to x cut

Hi Peeps
Yay I'm finally feeling better and I have  even gone back to work, no that's good too, there is only so much sitting around doing nothing I can cope with.
Anyway moving on .... you probably came to see what's on my desk, If you came via Julia's  stamping-ground.  that is. If you didn't.......well, hop over to see what it's all about.

Please meet Mr x cut, I have been having trimming issues for a while now so I decided I should invest in a proper guillotine and this one came well recommended and has good reviews...... so here's hoping.

On the left are some paints which need to be put away after my little helper had finished with them. If you visited last week you may remember my GD painting at my desk.
Do you want to see how she finished it this week.... oh go on....... its worth a look

For my Documented Life Project this week (or last week still catching up) I had to ask someone to draw in my journal so I could finish it.... I asked 'handyman'
This was the result..... not what I expected.

I think I look a bit grumpy... and old, but actually I hate to admit it's not a bad likeness.... not sure how to finish it, needs to be thought about.
There has been lots of other crafting on my desk this week but its wedding stuff and not for sharing yet... sorry!
So that's me done for this week, If you leave your number I will visit you back .... I'm nosey too, you see.
Happy Wednesday
janet

  5. Love the darling hanger that Erin made. And Mr. Handyman is quite the artist. I hope you like your new cutter, because mine hasn't cut right since I got it. Of course, mine is very old and used to belong to a school. Happy WOYWW from # 15.

  7. I need a new guillotine, the one I have is too small, interested to know your opinion. Erin did a great job, as did handyman. If I asked mr B to draw something it would look like a Picasso, without the money though

    Happy WOYWW

  11. Hope the trimmer lives up to the reviews, it's great when you find something that ACTUALLY works!
Super sketch by 'handyman', maybe just do some shading or light colouring to finish!

  14. I will very much appreciate your thoughts on the Xcut trimmer. Honestly, I don't know if it's trimmers or die-cutters, but so many people swear by one or the other, and an equal number of folk LOATHE the same one :) But still, always interested in feedback - I must have 4-5 of them and none are REALLY any good....

Happy WOYWW and glad you are on the mend!

  16. How about you get the "handyman" to take a profile photo of you and you sketch from that? I cannot use a trimmer, I have to use a guillotine. Had my trusty one for 20 years now. Hope you like yours. #63

  19. Well done to Handyman - great sketch. I am a bit slow this week - better late than never! I got tied up with a vintage china washing up project for Maxine's charity yesterday afternoon and came home worn out! Have a good week. x Jo

  20. Hi Jan, love your GD's tag- she did an awesome job. Love the X-cut guillotine, I have had mine for a lot of years now- its one of the blue/grey ones. Still going strong. The only thing I find is that its better to line up your card with the score lines on the base, rather than the actual top of the machine- that doesn't seem to run true for straight.Have a great week, running around late this week, I lost Wednesday completely, lol. 23. I see the handyman is artistic as well. In answer to your question, yes, the chocolate wrapper was mine and yes, I did enjoy it. Not all at once of course!

  24. I haven't visited in far too long! It sounds like you've been ill too. Me too and it's no fun. I can relate to the good to get back to work if for nothing else but the change of scenery. Congrats on the new cutter. May it be all that you hoped for! I love that Mr. Handyman can draw and drew you. That's too cool.
