WOYWW126 and an addiction to magazines

hi world

At this time of year my desk is not going to be anything but busy. In the middle you can see my next batch of 'using up stash' cards. I'm doing quite well, not too much left now. . . . .  mostly ribbon.
Pop over to see desk moniter and general nosey parker Julia Dunnit stamping-ground.

I dont know about you, but at the moment I seem to be addicted to buying craft magazines, mostly for the wonderful free gifts. I hardly ever make anything from them and sometimes don't even manage to read them.
But no more, today I decided I would make at least 1 item from each mag I buy OR I'm not allowed to get another one. There's no point in trying to use the back log so I am starting now. This is a card from Novembers issue of Craft Stamper (probably my favourite). Sorry the light is terrible so not a good picture.

I die cut the appetures on the big shot and backed the window with some 'snow flake' acetate that I brought at Ally Pally. Through the windows you can see lots of embossed snow flakes.

Also I am in the middle of knitting a shrug from knitter magazine and making a beaded necklace from the beadworkers guild journal from last month. Not doing too badly , don't know how long I can keep it up (especially as the knitting and beading are not going to be finished before the next magazine pops through the letter box !! oops. It's all part of the 10 year plan lol.
I have just got a bit of time to see some of your inspiring desks. Happy WOYWW

  3. You're a busy girl....knitting and beading! I love to crochet more than knit because I don't need to count. How weak is that? Thanks so much for visiting and before I go I have to admit...I LOVE MAGAZINES TOO! Have a great week!

  4. Blimey, how do you manage to fit it all in??? AND you work as well....
I like the 'use-up-the-stash' idea, I've been trying to do that as well, though a lot of the smaller fabric pieces have gone into the stuffing sack, for when I make draught excluders or something! Not the Nordic fabric I bought at C&H though, I used every square centimetre of that, yes indeedy :)

  8. I like the magazines from the UK, especially Craft Stamper, but I'm not particularly enamoured by the ones here in the US so I don't have the same problem as you do!! But I can sympathize though. Love the cards, the colours on the first one are great, and I love that snowflake acetate on the second. Good luck with the knitting.

  9. I used to buy all the cardmaking mags too, then realised I really wasn't 'into' what most were doing, so now its just Craft Stamper- definitely the best one, for me. sorry I'm late, again(!)

  11. Late, but here - love your Christmas cards, the blush pink is beautiful. I've stopped the mags - was just flicking through them and filing - not best use of my money!

  12. The cards and tag are great looking. I really do enjoy the WOYWW posts.

As for magazines. I'm right there with you. I used to frequent Borders and would get a pile of magazines then go grab a cup of jo and puruse and decide which one I'm getting. Funny, just last night I went through my decorating magazines (yep, a big fan of those too) and cut out only the things that really caught my eye. I'm going to start a journal of my dream home and maybe I should do that if the card magazines too..... along with other crafts.

I'm so happy to hear that you have several projects involving different crafts going at the same time! I am the same way. I was worried that I didn't have a focus in just one art form, but maybe that's not a bad thing after all!!!

Yep, I'm going to become a follower!!!
