WOYWW 176 The Saturday Edition

Hi Wednesday World
Saturday? I hear you  cry. Saturday was the day of the WOYWW crop.
Sorry if you have heard it already on another blog.

What a day it turned out to be. Everyone seemed like old friends, it was lovely to put faces and voices to names and art!
After the introductions we started with the important part of the day.... eating cake . . . . and what cake there was, yummy, yummy, yummy!     Morti what's the recipe please.

I was still suffering with my horrid cold, and was very aware that I didnt want to 'pass it on'

I had spent the day before battling around Ally Pally at the knitting and stitching show  and was feeling  a bit jadded and not my usual chatty self.

I  didn't take many pics, I forgot really, if you want to see more  hop over to stamping-ground   and follow the links.
anyway here are a few of my pictures of the day

This is my desk when Morti was showing us how to alter a domino ( see how it turned out at the end of this post).

Here is LLJ flexing her muscles ready to serve us a delicious hot lunch, no wimpy sausage rolls and sandwiches for the WOYWW girls.

Sam (hettiecraft) and fergus weren't sure if they had brought enough stuff.

Kate's ( i think) beautifully packed bag, love those coloured pens

Pam started off with a blank canvas, this is how it finished . . . beautifull .....it won a gold medal :)

I managed to finish my domino this morning.

The bee is shrink plastic and the stamp is from craft stamper

Here is my desk early on Tuesday afternoon, it isn't stripey just very sunny.
Most of the stuff is still to be put away after the weekend.
Still full of cold and didn't feel like it.

The pink goodie bag had choccies, a pincushion  (in the middle) and a card challenge from Julia and LLJ.
The green felt is for my next charity project..... poppies for the british legion poppy appeal . . . ... more  about these next week.
I will try and visit as many as possible this week, it is a real problem now with so many posting.
Several of us at the crop do the same thing ... that is, visit  followers, all that comment and those with the same ending number, it seems to work well.
thanks for visiting, please leave a comment if you can.

See you on a workdesk near you soon

  3. Great to meet you on Saturday -I haven't succumbed to the cold (yet)though there is one lurking - but I don't think it's "yours"!! I was quite tired by the time I got home, and spent most of Sunday snoozing, though I did load my photos on the blog later!
your domino looks great, by the way. Hope to see you again soon! Helen, 4

It was great to have you there on Saturday..we didn't notice that you were unchatty, we did sympathise with the honey and lemon you were having to drink though! Felt poppies? Nice...when you've got a mo then!!

  9. Oh didn't that domino turn out fab! Great to meet and chat. Wish I had been up to the tassel class - they looked AMAZING. Oh and I am visiting you from my desktop not my iPad this week and realized that for some reason the Gecko cake post doesn't show up on my iPad. I mean the POST does but lots of the photos don't No idea WHY, but I think WOYWW will def. always be desktop not Pad from now on. I hate missing stuff! And you were right - I WOULD have remembered those two. :)

  12. Been lovely to see all the crop pics today. Love the canvas, a well deserved win there, and your domino came out beautifully- I have a box of those somewhere....I agree how hard it is to get around everyone, I too go to those who visit me,then I pick everyone with the same end number as me, then minus 5 from that & visit those. If I'm lucky enough to have a day or two off around Wednesday, I try & get to everyone. But we all know how time flies, and we all have work & families, so I think we all appreciate the visits we do get :)

  14. Hi Janet. I'm just making my second visit of the day to the WOYWW desks. Looks like yoou had a brilliant time at the weekend, and you got to meet Jozarty and Donna, two of my crafting buddies, and both very generous. Speaking of generosity, a big thank you for your little gift - will send my proper thanks in a private email.
Love the domino, I bought loads of blanks years ago so have a lot to go at - when I get the time.

  33. I love the domino with the embedded bee! That is such a neat idea. It is good to see different photos as I've visited desks this week (slowly but surely). I'm with Hettiecraft, how do you know if you've brought enough? No matter what you've brought there will be something you left out and will be sad to not have. I hope you continue to get better. Colds are no fun! They sap the life right out of you.

Thank you for the condolences for my kitty. Poppy, Jack, and I have been spending a lot of quality time together this week. They are a bit miffed the electric blanket doesn't get turned on anymore but it isn't that cold for healthy cats.

  34. Glad you had fun with your domino, but it looked like you didn't need much help from me - you were well away! Love how the bee turned out... V cute!

I've aadded beaded tassels to my beading project list, I intend to get the book that's out now, for Christmas... on the wish list it goes.....the very LONG wish list....LOL

    Thanks for stopping by!
