Friday smile or is it a grimace

Hi Peeps 

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a smiley photo. Followers of my blog will know I am in denial about " the big C "  but I work in retail and we have been selling it for a while now. The powers that be decided it was time for our Christmas making window .... I spent Wednesday evening  making cards for the display , I didn't want to do it .... they  made me. My handyman thought it was funny anyway. 

You know what, Christmas, that's in December isn't it ?

happy Wednesday
So you want to see my desk do you? really, ok then ....here it is

 This was taken Tuesday evening about 7.30 I am sorting through a pile of stamps .... postage, not rubber for a change. being a bit OCD I am organising them into types... ordinary uk, Christmas, special uk and foreign, well it makes sense to me.
I am about to start a big  new project (more next week, if I get it started) and am just looking for stuff to put on it, something to make me S M I L E........... Mmm intriguing.
On the left is my Compendium of Curiosity book..... by you know who, I brought this a while ago but haven 't really had the time to look through it, I am going to use it for this new project.

Anyway do you want to see what I have been up to last week..... having fun with my glue gun..... how ?..... you ask .... this is how

 

the glue was randomly dribbled into water to make a pattern.... it is the final page in my lace book

made an interesting mask for DIs and sprayed with mica mist

 



 

 

 Then I though what else could I use this for...... I made this mirror ......perfect for my fairy grotto (the craft room)

 Then I accidentally made these .... you know .... a what if moment ... I coloured them with alcohol inks. funkey huh!

 

 I also made some tags for a swap using my  Gelli plate prints. The eye on the middle one is cut from a can of pepsi ..... good recycling eh!

just testing and playing with dominoes

hi Peeps
I have posted before the problems I am having downloading photos so this is a test to see if I have (or rather the handyman has) fixed the problem.
I have been playing with inks and  dominoes this week.
I love getting inky and these little dominoes make great brooches and take to alcohol inks and stamping really well, when dry I covered the top with glossy accents to seal it.
The dragonfly is made from shrink plastic and coloured with sakura pens.
So here 's the photo..... fingers crossed

hey! it worked ..... he really is a very handy Guy to have around what would I do without him

Friday smile what was I thinking

Hi peeps
I was going to post this last Friday but something happened and I forgot ... My memory at the moment.... Don't even remember what it was. 

Anyway this is what happened when I brought my GD Erin some finger paints from pound land. What was I thinking

She only had them for 2 seconds ... Up to her elbows in green goo, 

So this is what I did then, what all good grandma's would do

I made her wash up  lol

WOYWW 220 don' t you just love colouring

Hi Peeps

Oh every week we all say where has the week gone..... this week is no exception, enough said!

Julia started this weekly journey of madness and mayhem so pop over there and say Hi.... you could even join in. stamping-ground

So here 's my desk for this week...

Dam blogger it is playing up again and wont let me up load any photos....... any help would be appreciated.

I will add the photos from my phone later Ooo get her!...... technical wizard that I am

Anyway I was determined to keep it short this week

On my desk is a set of cards from Hettiecraft I am colouring in for my work colleague's birthdays. I don't often use my promarkers  but thought they worked well with this stamp. I also found this very relaxing, time just disappeared and dinner was late hehe

On the right are a couple of nail varnished I didn't notice until I looked at the photo....a certain 2 year old in my care on Tuesdays asked me to paint her toes, well why not, that's what Grandmas are for isn't it?  so I did her fingers as well......her Mum wont mind ... much!

At the back is a set of 3 lovely black sticky plastic lace tapes ..... bargain from poundland, I may use them for DD3 wedding invites.... if I remember to get some more that is.

well that done I hope you can see the pictures.

I also made a new home card as well.

For the last couple of weeks I have been blogging on my phone ( a bit of a pain to be honest ). So I was really please to get my laptop back and do it properly but now blogger is playing up and not letting me upload pictures so I'm back on my phone in the hope it is better

Not sure why there are 2 pairs of glasses normally I can't find any.

I have just finished making DD3's save the date cards.

Last week I posted a pic of my handyman's desk this is what we were making, well he did all the hard work but I was quite pleased with how they turned out and I hope  the recipient was too

Also this week I had some Happy mail from Sam at hettiecraft

I had admired the gorgeous mouse stamp so she sent me some stampings

WOYWW 218 the count down begins

Really? Is it Wednesday again already . 

Time to take a peek at the crafty worlds work desks under the leadership of head hopper Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/

First of all a big apology to everyone I didn't visit last week, I am still waiting for my laptop to be returned. It is very slow going on my phone. I will do better .... Promise.

Anyway My desk ;

This week DD3 announced her wedding date... Next May so not long and lots to do, panic ... Nah, this is my third after all. 

I am just making some sample save the date cards, an easy brief : simple and pink, I think I can manage that . 

Also on my desk this week is some very happy mail, I won some blog candy from my lovely WOYWW mate Jo from Jozart blog. http://jozartdesigns.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/blog-candy-winners-name-tags.html?m=1  I love it, especially the travel journal, but there are lots of interesting  crafty bits and bobs.... 

I think I am going to have fun with this lot.

I finished a couple more cards too this week. Can only show one of them.

I don't normally do girly but I made an exception for my lovely friend Jane who has a ' special' birthday this year. I used parts of my lace book as inspiration

Friday smile .... Big grin Thursday

8 of us went to goodwood ladies day.... All dressed up in our posh frocks and hats ( being slightly older ladies.... Sensible shoes).

The sun shone .... A lot

We had a drink.... Or 2

The horses ran about

Money changed hands ...  A bit 

We won..... some

We lost .... some more 

Won again 

Had a good grin at the poor girls trying to hide how much their feet hurt in their very high heels...... They'll learn hehe 

All in all a great day out
